“G*D. Reflections Between Heaven and Earth” – A Celebratory Opening for the New Exhibition
To mark the 130th anniversary of the Jewish Museum Vienna, the major anniversary exhibition "G*D. Reflections Between Heaven and Earth” was officially opened on April 1, 2025, at the Museum Dorotheergasse. The night before, guests were invited to an exclusive preview dinner, held in cooperation with the Dorotheum, offering a first glimpse of the exhibition.
On March 31, guests from the worlds of art, culture, and public life gathered at the Jewish Museum Vienna for a festive reception. Director Barbara Staudinger, curators Daniela Schmid and Domagoj Akrap, and Kristina Parsons from the Jewish Museum New York offered personal insights into the creation and significance of the exhibition. The evening continued at the elegant Dorotheum Vienna, where the exchange unfolded in a unique and atmospheric setting.
A heartfelt thank-you goes to all honorary guests and supporters who made the evening possible – especially to the Dorotheum Vienna for their generous hospitality and outstanding organization.

On April 1, over 300 guests attended the official opening of the exhibition at the Museum Dorotheergasse. Following welcome remarks by Barbara Staudinger, Claudia Prutscher, Vice President of the Jewish Community of Vienna, and Martin Hauer, Executive Board Member of Raiffeisenlandesbank Niederösterreich-Wien AG, addressed the audience.
The curators guided guests through the central themes of the exhibition. Author Ernst Strouhal shared his reflections on the concept of G*d, while Emily Stewart provided a moving musical accompaniment to the evening.
On view until October 15, 2025, at the Museum Dorotheergasse.
